You thought we meant the vegetable didn’t you? Kale went from a super food to a super cool fall color. It may be the powerhouse of nutrients, but this fall it’s the powerhouse color. Pantone announced their palette of colors for Spring 2017 and it is no surprise that “Kale” made the cut. This earth tone color, seen all over fashion week’s streets, was clearly inspired by the classic military Olive Drab and Sage.
These shades are not the only fashion statement inspired by the military – have you seen the October issue of W Magazine? In their first ever his-and-hers fashion issue, the “Make Love, Not War” shoot featured models in this fall’s “military uniform”. Showcased were Rothco’s Vintage Woodland Camo Tank Top and Rothco’s Vintage M-65 Field Jacket in Woodland Camo.
The iconic Field and Flight Jackets that have been around for decades may have influenced this military streetwear trend. However, now the accessories are going well beyond just jackets. It’s military inspired shirts, boots, bags and even dog tags that are being seen worn from day to day. Suitable for both men and women, Spring 2017 predictions have proved this trend isn’t going anywhere.
From BDU Fatigue Shirts and Jackets to Boots and Bags, Rothco’s authentic military inspired clothing offers a classic, long-lasting quality that keeps up with today’s trends.
