May 8th, 2015 marks the 70th Anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe. The day, which is known as VE Day or Victory in Europe day, marked the formal acceptance of Nazi Germany's Armed Forces surrender. This historic event was marked with celebration throughout the world.
Today as I looked through the articles and newspapers covering this historic event, I was overwhelmed with images of celebration and excitement. It was a truly amazing time that was captured with some of the most iconic images of the past century. From the crowds in London that gathered around to see Winston Churchill declare the war with Germany was over; to the streets of New York City as the crowds amassed in Time Square to celebrate. They say a picture is worth a thousand words but I say these pictures represent just one word...VICTORY.
