National Military Appreciation Month

Did you know the month of May is National Military Appreciation Month

The month honors over 90 million Americans and over 230 years of our nation history by recognizing all those who are and have served in the branches of the military and their families.

The month recognizes several special days including:
-  Loyalty Day: Celebrated on May 1st, the day honors our allegiance to the United States and pay tribute to the heritage of American freedom.

-  VE Day: On May 8th 1945, the United States & Great Britain celebrated Victory in Europe and the defeat of the Nazi regime.

- Military Spouse Appreciation Day: This year the day will take place May 9th and is celebrated the Friday before Mother's Day. The day is meant to acknowledge the significant contributions, support and sacrifices the spouses of the Armed Forces.

- Armed Forces Day: Celebrates the unification of the Armed Forces under one department. And President Harry S. Truman led the effort to establish a single holiday for citizens to come together and thank our Military for their patriotic service in support of our country.

- Memorial Day: A day in which we remember and honor all the men & women who gave the ultimate sacrifice
for our country. For more information on Memorial Day and how you can obverse this day, read up on one of our past blog posts from a guest blogger we had from the Veterans United Network entitled Memorial Day: Recap and Remembrance

Thank you to all our heroes and everything you do for this country.
